Workspaces and roles

One workspace per team: invites, owners, admins and members, and what each may do.

A workspace is one team's cabinet: its wallets, folders, jobs, warmups and coins, and the people who work on them. Everyone in a workspace sees the same wallets and the same coins live, and each person has one of three roles that decides what they may do. You can create as many workspaces as you need and be a member of several.

What a workspace holds

Everything in Apache belongs to exactly one workspace. A wallet lives in one workspace only: its key can't be imported into a second one while it's still here. Jobs, warmups and coins remember who started them, but they belong to the workspace, so the work stays when a person leaves.

  • Switching. The workspace switcher in the header (Switch workspace) lists your workspaces, New workspace, and Invitations when some are waiting. With several workspaces, /app shows Pick a workspace, last opened first; keys 1 to 9 open one directly.
  • Its address. Each workspace has its own URL, like /app/team-a. Owners and admins change the Name and the URL under Settings → General; changing the URL breaks old links to it.
  • Its own rules for money. Withdrawal addresses and the two factor checks around them are set per workspace in Settings. See Security.

The three roles

Ownereverything

Everything, including owners and ownership. The person who creates a workspace is its first owner.

Memberdaily work

Works with the wallets: generate, fund, collect, move between them. Launches and trades too.

The split is simple: anything that keeps SOL inside the workspace is open to every member, and anything that lets SOL or keys leave it, or changes who is in the team, needs an owner or admin.

Inviting people

  1. They create an account first

Invitations go to existing accounts, by username or email. Someone without Apache access can still be invited; they can join once an admin turns their access on.

  2. Invite from Members

Open Members in the main menu. In Invite someone, type their Username or email, pick the Role (Member or Admin) and press Invite. Owners and admins can invite.

  3. They join

The invitation waits in their workspace menu and on their /app/new page until they press Join or Decline. Until then it's listed under Waiting to join on your Members page, where Withdraw takes it back.

Nobody is invited straight in as an owner. To add one, invite them as admin, then make them owner once they have joined.

Changing roles and removing people

Owners and admins see a menu on each member's row: Make owner, Make admin or Make member, and Remove from workspace. Only owners touch the owner role, in either direction: an admin can't make someone an owner, demote an owner or remove one. A workspace always keeps at least one owner.

Leaving a workspace

Settings → Leave workspace removes you after a confirmation. You lose access to its wallets until someone invites you again; the wallets and everything in them stay with the workspace. The last owner can't leave: make someone else an owner first.

One account, two products

The same account and the same people can also work in ApeSync, the other product on /start. Its workspaces are separate from Apache's, with their own members and invitations, and access to each product is opened on its own.
